Redken Hair Products for Men

My husband recently had a chance to sample the entire Redken for Men product line and is now a self-proclaimed Redken customer for life! His favorite styling products are the "Polish Up" defining pomade and "Outplay" texture putty which both make his hair easily manageable, without a sticky, greasy, or heavy feeling. Most pomades and puttys are thick and weighted and my man reports that these are not. The "Grip Tight" holding gel left my husband unimpressed, but he really isn't a gel-guy. So, for those of you who are into the more stiff or obviously styled-gel look, this could be a good product for you. He is also raving about the "Thick Boost Densify" Shampoo and Conditioner and swears that his hair has been growing faster and thicker over the last month and a half of using this line.

As a wife who is near this man's hair daily, I can report that the scents are nice-masculine and subdued, and that the texture of his hair really does feel thick and healthy. We are definitely a satisfied couple of customers.

C.O Bigelow

A product that I liked a lot this summer was C.O. BIGELOW no. 1674 All-in-one protective day lotion SPF 25. I was non greasy, odorless, and very easy to spread. What was not easy was getting it out of the pump action container. It worked well to about halfway down, then the pump stopped working and the product just would not flow easily out of the container. I would buy this product if it came in a different container.

And more after shaving products

I've recently tried 3 Bond No. 9 products: Little Italy, Sack's 5th Avenue, and Harrods for him. I'm sure they are all quality products, bu I found the aroma of Little Italy and 5th Avenue to be too much herb and floral for my taste. I would not buy these products for myself. But the Harrods had a very masculine scent and lasting power. I would buy the Harrods--liked the aroma and was complimented on it several times.
One other product that I did like was DIESEL Only the brave. It also has a very masculine aroma and feel (sting on the face) and had lasting power.

Aftershave Lotions

FROM TONY:
I have tried the following eau de toilette and have been told that they really all pour homme.
I liked them all to various degrees except for Dirty English-- I found it too musky.
The following had fruity scents that I was neutral to:
L'ArtisanParfumeurDzongkha
L'ArtisanParfumeurPremier Figuier
L'ArtisanParfumeur Fou D'Abisinthe
L'ArtisanParfumeur Menchant Loup
L'ArtisanParfumeur L'Eau D'Ambre

The following I like more since they were scented in a more traditional manner:
Yve Saint Laurent l'Homme
Gris Clair Serge Luten
Lubin LeVetiver
Lutens Chypre Rouge
Calvin Kline Euphoria
Lubin Idole

What I really like in aftershave lotion is Jade East--a throw back to the 60's, so don't take this blog too seriously since as you can see I have no taste.
What I did buy last week (with a gift card, and I'm running low on Jade East) is Prada Amber Pour Homme. It has a great but subtle manly scent, even if it is a spray bottle (not manly), and now I can joke that the Devil does wear Prada.

Billy Jealousy: Liquisand and Combination Code

My wife has always been very generous about sharing her face washes and moisturizers with me. I've tried a few facial lines created "just for men"-is it just me, or do these dude-washes try way too hard to be manly? I find that most of these lines make my face smell like a freshly deodorized armpit.

Anyway, I tried Billy Jealousy's Liquisand Exfoliating Facial Cleanser and Combination Code Face Moisturizer. Both smelled fresh and pretty neutral-not like my wife's perfume and not like my Speed Stick. The microscrubbers in the facewash are pretty sweet-I feel like my face is really clean when I use it. The moisturizer is great too-not too heavy.

My wife likes it too-now I'm lending her MY products. Two thumbs up for Billy J.

Shaving foam

I have been using mkmen shaving foam for several months now. I like the scent far better than the Kingsman shaving gel, but it is not as effective in making the blade glide. But it is light, goes on easily and has no after-odor.
